2D reflectometry for the investigation of polymer interfaces: off-specular neutron scattering

Specular and off-specular neutron reflectometry have been used in a combined approach to study thin polymer films. Our goal this work is illustrate the power of scattering technique probe properties buried interface immiscible bilayers deuterated polystyrene protonated poly(methyl methacrylate) (h-PMMA). The diffuse stemming from these systems discussed relation thermal fluctuations at polymer/polymer interface, providing means extract in-plane correlation lengths interfaces. In addition onset hole formation top layer evidenced by scattering, not easily detectable specular reflection alone.
